Follow-up Comment #3, bugs #11936 (project gnustep):

I would also appreciate if someone could check this, because I personally
find it rather counter intuative if switching the application /would/ trigger
textDidEndEditing: let alone change the firstResponder status somehow.  If I'm
editing a text field that has a formatter for example and wish to lookup
something in another application during my edit, I wouldn't want the
formatter to either complain or have the value be propagated over
associations.  I think this would result in buggy application behavior.  To
me current flow you described sounds just like I would expect it.
