One of my users has reported that the gnulib-supplied bootstrap script is
failing for them, but if they change:
default_gnulib_url=git://git.sv.gnu.org/gnulib
to:
default_gnulib_url=https://git.savannah.gnu.org/git/gnulib
it works. My suspicion is that they're behind a firewall which doesn't
allow the git: protocol; I've asked them to try using
https://git.sv.gnu.org/git/gnulib to verify that it's the protocol and not
the hostname which is the problem.
Is there a reason gnulib is still preferring the git: protocol in the
bootstrap script even though in most other places we are switching to the
more secure https protocol?
