No, I did not.
You attached the patch as type text/xdiff, which is fine,
and that's how my MUA (emacs/gnus) renders those. Also fine.
The point is that it did not need to be encoded.
The only reason it was encoded is due to your unnecessary
use of a multi-byte apostrophe.
