These are modules, not packages.  They are much lighter-weight than
packages.  And if you really don't want the extra source code weight
(which, for most sane systems, gives no extra binary weight, all while
making it easier to port to insane systems like mingw that need the extra
weight), then you can use gnulib-tool --avoid at the expense of
portability to some platforms.
