[bug-gnulib] [ADMIN] the bug-gnulib prefix

Hello all,
    Bob Proulx wrote me that he doesn't like the "[bug-gnulib] " prefix,
which is automatically added to each subject line.

Just a few days ago, we all saw the following subject line:
  "[bug-gnulib] Re: [bug-grep] length of dec. representation of a number"

And since the thread was later also cross-posted to bug-coreutils, the
subject line could accumulate even more crap, if bug-coreutils also added
prefixes to the postings.
(Yes, cross-posting is often misused, but this was not the case.)

Thus Bob and I would like to remove the prefix from the list configuration.

I'd like to ask you to mail me your opinion.  If you would welcome the
change, as Bob, please tell me.  If you think the change is not a good step,
please tell me, too.
(If you don't care, you can tell me, but I guess you don't have to.)

The poll will last until Tue, Mar 15.  I'll mail the summary of votes and
the resolution.


FYI, mails from the list can be more reliably recognized by one of the
headers defined by RFC 2369 [1], for example by:

List-Post: <mailto:address@hidden>

which are added by mailman to each mail.
For example, if your mail system uses procmail, you can use the following
rule in .procmailrc:

:0:
* ^List-Post:address@hidden>
bug-gnulib-new

And Bob and I will be glad to help you with any problems which might
appear.
