I've fixed some of the issues with the board designs but haven't been able to reproduce all of them.  If anyone can reproduce any sort of issue with the latest code then I can take a look.

The "Select new design and lose current changes?" prompt has been occurring for at least three years.  It only affects 2D designs and does not happen 100% of the time, although I've yet to determine a pattern for the few occasions when it correctly opens the design without comment. My workaround is to use two hands when perusing the boards but naturally that feels a little silly.

The introduction of 3D designs probably introduced this bug; I suspect it's just one of a few pointer problems that remain (mostly in the 2D code).  One that I haven't reported is when you make a change to a 2D board, it often prompts you with something like "OK to change <completely different board>?".  The workaround for that is to open another board without losing any changes then reopen the board you were trying to change.

Another unreported pointer problem occurs when changing a design from a painted board to a wooden one - it abends.  The workaround is to either create a new design or first open a 3D design and then edit the 2D design.
