There is a lack of information here. What was the score of the match
(how many points did each player have when this occurred) and what was
the match length? This question is very important.

The answers to these questions can also be helplful. What version of
GNUBG are you using (Help menu/About gnubg/build info/Top line is the
version? What skill level do you have the bot play at
(Expert/WorldClass/Beginner etc)?

If you saved the match to an SGF file that would be beneficial, as you
could email it directly to me at address@hidden Without any
further knowledge it could be a number of things. Like the skill level
of the bot was set below the expert level, that the number of points you
needed to win was 1pt thus gammons and backgammons were irrelevant etc.
