This warning isn't catastrophic, but if you wish to get rid of this
message issue this command from a command prompt:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure gnubg

When prompted select "yes" to build the bearoff database. When you run
gnugb again that warning should disappear.

This is interesting. From the command can you run this command and send
the result of these 2 commands in your reply:

locale
uname -a

As for this, this isn't good:

Can you email a copy of your gnubgautorc file (This has your current
settings in it) directly to address@hidden . You will find this
file in your home directory under:

~/.gnubg/gnubgautorc
