Subject: [Bug-gnubg] GnuBG is playing strangely and checkers will not move properly when clicked

Hello Developers,
I just built gnubg from CVS as of June 15, 2009 05:07 GMT and the program is behaving rather strangely. It is playing poorly, and making tutor recommendations which are clearly wrong. I have gnubg set to play at World Class for both checker and cube. To illustrate, I set the dice generator to manual and opened a new money session. I then gave gnubg a 5-3 to play and it did not make its three point but rather it made the old-timer play of 13/10, 13/8. 2-ply evaluation rated making the three point as a -0.438 blunder. For a second illustration, I also tried opening a new money session with manual dice and tutor on. I have the dice set to show the higher die on the left. This time I gave myself an opening 5-3 to play. If I click normally on the top checker on the eight point it will move to my five point, not my three point. I have to drag the checker from my eight point to my three point and then clicking a checker on my six point will move it to my three point. When finishing the move the tutor will not flag the play as incorrect but if I step back the analysis panel will show that I played 13/10, 13/8 and will also rate the 8/3, 6/3 play that I actually made as a -0.438 blunder! The move I made will be shown correctly in the move list however. GnuBG was also redoubling in a money session when in a losing position and in positions where the larger die could be moved but the smaller could not the checker would not move when clicked but those are harder to illustrate.
                                Take care,
                                          Myshkin LeVine
