I suggest we rather make a GObject class, and make it a singleton object. A simple interface can be defined with methods like: get_ME(), get_ME_at_score(), invert(), read(<filename>), etc. A constructor can take a xml filename or something. Much cleaner? Isn't it?

Yep and it is a fairly isolated area. Speed is of the essence though.

Christian.
