To fully use the 3D accelerator with Ubuntu and NVidia, you'll need
the 3rd party driver package of NVidia.
These packages are needed (and the Ubuntu terminal commands to install them):
sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-180
sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-180-dev
Then gnubg compiles just fine
... and a reminder: to use multithread type
./configure --enable-threads
instead of ./configure
