Using the version of GnuBG you downloaded, I was able to do what I described below (to resize). After you resize, click the “Settings” menu (in GnuBG), click on the menu item “Save settings”. Exit GnuBG, rerun, and it should use the window size you previously saved.

I reviewed the screen capture. The GnuBG default window size is too big and it is covering the windows dock at the bottom. One way to resize it is to run gnubg as you are. When the main window is up click on the X11 Task bar  menu item (At the top of the screen) called “window”, then in the drop down menu click on “Zoom”. The program should be displayed full screen. Now in the bottom right of the screen (to the rick of the Apple Dock) you should see the resize icon (on he gnubg window). Click on the icon and hold the mouse button down while dragging the window to resize it.

I’m unsure if your version of GnuBG will save the default window size when it exits.
