Not sure I would discount doing this so easily. I have built pymingw here but I know someone who did what Michael did (Use the distributed binaries from python.org and was able to use Sqlite, and the Python interfaces okay. Now I will admit that compiling and linking working is not the same as having the executable function the way it should. But MingW (On other projects) that I have worked on has worked well linking against libs and dll’s that were compiled against MSVC.

Would be interesting to know if Michael’s python command line works properly. That would be the litmus test.
