The obvious error in the log is to do with
'rl_filename_quote_characters' not being defined.  That's part of the
readline library - perhaps you've got a newer (or older) version of this
library?

Seems strange that you're getting a problem just with new code.
Sorry can't really help as I've not got a Mac...
