Yes I tried glut and it is as you found out. May be a problem in glut
or gnubg itself, I don't know.

I verified with the Savage guru that my installation of DRI is OK. He
says the performance I get is "adequate but not stellar", which means
GNUbg should run fine. I think the problems we are seeing are simply
GNUbg not keeping up with the changes in other libraries ....
