I was trying to do that here at work, and the bug did not occur. Then, I 
recalled that someone mentioned in the bugtracker that this bug does not occur 
if the sounds are off (which I had), so I switched them on, and -- voila, the 
bug is here. So that I can confirm that switching the sound off seems to 
erradicate the bug (at least here, I did not check at home yet).

Yes, it does crash that way, try the attached file. Just remember that sounds 
must be enabled (i.e. it did not crash while I did not have soundcard installed 
in the computer).
