Capture the result of running gnubg in a text mode:
% script capture
script started, output file is capture
% gnubg -t
[ output from startup, maybe gnubg terminates]
% exit
Script done, output file is capture
This will give you the error messages in a form which will either
allow you to identify the problem or suitable for mailing to this list
for further suggestions.
