I wonder if there's a problem with the move colouring code? I've noticed games taking a little longer to load but haven't had time to look at it. Try turning it off with "set styledgamelist off" and see if that makes any difference.

Very rarely it's a good thing to have a slow machine. Since the move colouring loading a 7-pter can take around 30 s. This is certainly due to the refresh of the annotation window after every loaded move, at least it looks a bit wild. The move list also looks a bit disarranged during loading. But afterwards everything is fine. And loading is not delayed when the annotation window is closed. (Win95, multi-window setup)

Does it speed up after "set styledgamelist off"?

Did you mean annotation window or analysis window? Try closing one or both of these and see if this speeds thing up. I think the problem could be the analysis window updating.
