Did you try changing X11 menu item for GnuBG and add the -w option when
running gnubg? (Review my last email)

When at the command line you will only get the text based version of
gnubg (Which it appears you did!) unless you execute this command first:

export DISPLAY=:0

Make sure X is running (Usually you can run it by clicking on the X on
the OSX doc bar at the bottom.

then run gnubg

The export DISPLAY=:0 tells your terminal environment that you wish X
Windows applications to use Display 0 (The default for the main screen).
X must be running first of course.

If you wish to load X from the command line you can use this command:

X :0 &

That is similar to clicking on the X on the OSX dock bar.
