OK, let's say overall you convinced me, just a few remarks though.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with the current classification, it
simply gives a bit more of information that the one you propose (i.e. the
old one)

As you write, it gives *a bit* more information, but adds confusion too and opens the door for difficulty in categorizing doubling mistakes. What's the trade? Obviously only subjective answers to this. Anyway, what didn't make sense at all to me in the first place was that 'Wrong double around CP' stuff, but that's settled now as everybody agrees it should be removed.

As a totally minor detail, I would change the displayed text to something
like :

     Wrong double (below DP)
     Wrong double (above TG)
     Missed double (above DP)
     Missed double (around CP)
     Missed double (below TG)

Not such a minor detail, even if every 'old' Gnubg user must be used by now to the text displayed currently, I like your wording, it makes things very clear.

Still, I don't think you mentioned, in math terms, when a 'Missed double (above DP)' will fall into the 'Missed double (around CP)' category. Will you simply take the arithmetic mean between DP and CP?

Same question goes for Missed double (around CP) and Missed double (below TG). But here it will be much more tricky, especially in match play as you mentioned.

A small (big) request related to the subject : the Market Window
panel allows to modify the current position's gammon/backgammon
rates (GR1, BR1, GR2, BR2), but not the winning chances (W1% only,
since W2% = 1-W1%).
With just one more edit field (for W1%) the Market Window panel
would be a complete Market Window Calculator that could be used
"stand alone", without any current position, just to "play" with
market windows.

I cannot support too strongly your proposal, I keep juggling with positions to compute Take Point tables with various GWC. The Market Window panel is alreasy outstanding, this would make it perfect on earth!!!
