Yes. Step 3 shouldn't be needed.

And yet, some older .gnubgautorc caused gnubg for win to crash or act 
strange, even after Save Settings of the new build.

Easiest is just to delete .gnubgautorc, but that also resets 
everything to default.

So: 1. 2. 3. 4.

( or just 3. before running gnubg if one doesn't care about personal 
settings )
