The evaluation was not an ELO evaluation! The rating was calculated
based on an arbitrary linear interpolation. I got sick of all the
questions and removed it, until someone does the necessary work (see
below).

Kees van den Doel is working on a project to relate match length and
average error rate per decision to relative ratings based on the FIBS
formulae. By assigning gnubg a fixed rating of, say, 2050 we can
calculate estimated ratings. I also hope I've conviced Kees to write a
small piece for the manual that we can feed to users asking questions
about the numbers produced ("why does gnubg say I'm a favourite, but has
assigned me a lower rating?", "why does gnubg have a rating of XXX?",
etc).
