I'm not sure I understand exactly.

Do you mean the board orientation that one adjusts under
Settings|Options|Display|Clockwise Movement?

Or to swap players?

Or do you mean in edit mode to set who's on turn?

Any of these is certainly feasible. It might just take a while (for
me) to find my way to the right code place (I guess in board_pointer).

However, I'm not entirely convinced yet. ;)
It doesn't come too naturally for me to rotate the board when clicking
on this arrow. I'd rather relate it with who's on turn and which
checkers (s)he's playing with. That's because the arrow combines
various information: IMHO first who's on turn (for that it changes
direction), then what colour this player should move, and only
finally, based on which side the arrow is, whether the outer board is
left or right.
For changing the board orientation I'd probably try to drag the arrow
from the left to the right side. But this is a bit tricky to
implement.

And: do you really change the board orientation that often? I never do
this.
