The board display code has now been moved to entirely client-side
rendering. To get nice text on the board, it is essential to use
FreeType 2 (see www.freetype.org). If freetype is not there, gnubg
will draw its own digits, 7-segment display style. These should
hopefully be legible, but are unavoidably ugly.
