At 0-ply it converts the cubeless equity to a cubeful one by applying
Janowski's formulae. Higher ply is just averaging over all 21, 441, ...
posible rolls (and all possible cube positions).
A 0-ply cube decision is basically determining whether you're far enough
into the doubling window. At 1-ply you see market losers, and 2-ply is
basically comparing doubling now with doubling next roll. 3-ply and
higher is equivalent to 2-ply except that the equity for doubling next
time is calculated on a higher level. At 4-ply you also see the equity
for doubling two rolls into the future.
I recommend at least 2-ply for cube decisions.
