[Bug-gnubg] Cube settings in the interface

Hi folks,

sorry for the traffic but I just became aware of a strange behave of
gnubg. In an earlier posting I showed one or two positions where I
didn't undersatnd gnubg's doubling strategy and also didn't understand,
that gnubg critizises its own doublings (though same settings in
analysis. evaluation and players).

Playing a bit with gnubg I also wondered why gnubg is very fast in
deciding whether to double or take/pass a double.

I just started gnubg in a terminal and checked the settings with "show
settings". Though I definitely set cube evaluation to 2-ply it showed up
with 0-ply (I swear).

After setting it manually with "set player gnubg cubedecision evaluation
plies 2" and "save settings" it now works correct. But how can I be sure
(Well, not me, but everyone using only the graphical interface) that the
settings made in the menues are the settings gnubg really uses.

At least the doubtfull doubles are gone now ;-).

Ciao

Achim
