default ld emulation

The ld man page says:
       -m emulation
              Emulate  the  emulation  linker.   You can list the
              available emulations with the --verbose or  -V  op­
              tions.   This  option overrides the compiled-in de­
              fault, which is the system for which you configured
              ld.

ld -V says:
GNU ld version 2.11.2 (with BFD 2.11.2)
  Supported emulations:
   elf_i386
   i386linux

How do I find out which one is the compiled-in default?
