Follow-up Comment #3, bug #65874 (group libiconv):
Thanks for that confirmation Bruno, the POSIX check, and the upgrade to
conform.
I will suggest upstream to lesspipe that both versions of the command be
tested for, until your work gets into a release and out thru distros.
The lesspipe package appears to have been developed while at CERN and the
developer now maintains it at DESY where Centos, SciLinux, Ubuntu appear to be
used; large dataset and analytical math and modelling tools, and MacPorts, are
supported.
I noticed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iconv where it appears that original
development started at HP, ported to other commercial systems, BSDs may use
their own, IBM has ported it to their platforms, and also developed ICU
containing uconv https://linux.die.net/man/1/uconv which has compatible
options, and upstream might also like to support as an alternative.
