Please can you state why this patch is needed? If looking up a file on
disk is ok on some platforms, why not also on OS/2?
Do you mean charset.alias ?
The original codes generate charset.alias having ll_CC.codeset. But on
OS/2, people usually do not set codeset.
So it is meaningful to use aliases for ll_CC. And if an user specify
codeset, it should be respected. Moreover, many aliases in charset.alias
are not compatible with OS/2.
Also, since I think the number of users who need OS/2 specific packages
in new versions is very small, I'm not inclined to put much support work
into support for this platform.
What is OS/2 specific packages ?
Finally, I have two question.
The one is that it takes a very long time to receive a reply from you.
From six months to 1 year.
Is there any special reason ?
The other one is where to submit the patches for gnulib.
Can you tell me ?
