Thank you, and yes, this was actually one of the motivations.

Right; the current predicate should be a significant overall improvement but 
there are inevitably some colours where the decision isn't quite right. I'll 
see what can be done about it. It seems to be mainly those somewhat reddish 
colours that need some work.
Perhaps you could try list-colours-display and see if you can spot a pattern?

I'll be back with a longer reply on the principles later.
