Sorry, I somehow got the impression that you referred to the Elisp manual; I
should have read your message more attentively.
It looks like they both would benefit from some restructuring; having "Regexp
backslash" as a separate, parallel section doesn't make sense in either. Note
that omitting \{,N\} from the Emacs manual is no great sin, because the user
can just use \{0,N\} instead.
