Too bad.  Does it work when you replace

             (monitor-attributes (car (display-monitor-attributes-list
                                       (frame-parameter frame 'display))))

by

             (monitor-attributes (car (display-monitor-attributes-list frame)))

in ‘fit-frame-to-buffer’?
