bug#8378: 23.2; eval-defun vs defface docstring

From: Kevin Ryde
Subject: bug#8378: 23.2; eval-defun vs defface docstring
Date: Wed, 30 Mar 2011 10:26:06 +1100
User-agent: Gnus/5.110011 (No Gnus v0.11) Emacs/23.2 (gnu/linux)

When M-x eval-defun is used on a defface, the face docstring is not
updated. For example in the scratch buffer M-x eval-defun on

    (defface my-test '((t (:foreground "blue")))
"This is a blue face docstring.")

and then on

    (defface my-test '((t (:foreground "red")))
"This is a red face docstring.")

followed by

    M-x describe-face my-test

shows

"This is a blue face docstring"

in the help, where I expected it t be "red face" after evaluating the
second form.

The face colour and the display, is updated correctly (to red) as far as
I can tell, but not the docstring somehow.
