With a new emacs from yesterday evening (CET) I get (.recentf I postet
yesterday + some new entries):

--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
% emacs -Q --daemon --eval '(recentf-mode 1)'
("emacs" "-Q" "--eval" "(recentf-mode 1)")
Starting Emacs daemon.
Loading /home/horn/.recentf...
Loading /home/horn/.recentf...done
Cleaning up the recentf list...
Loading tramp...
Cleaning up the recentf list...done (0 removed)
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

So it seems to start fine, but now emacsclient -c or emacsclient -t
return immediately without opening a frame.

But that has nothing to do with recentf; omitting the --eval results in
the same problem. (I'll report a separate bug for the new issue and
suggest to keep this one open until I can check again with a functional
daemon/client.)

Bye,
Tassilo
