thanks, now it works as expected. Is that documented somewhere, especially in
the NEWS file? Couldn't find anything. I had already asked about this problem
a few weeks ago in gnu.emacs.help and Stefan Monnier mentioned something about
trusted variables. Maybe all that's missing is a NEWS entry.
