That's funny, in dired mark lots of files then use the "!" command to
do a command, then do C-x ESC ESC to see what you just did. I see
(dired-do-shell-command "echo" nil (quote ("sitecopy-affordablehost11698")))
which only mentions the first marked file in the buffer, which seems
to be an inaccurate way of recording history.
By the way, for lots of laughs at parties, mark some files, forget
about them, then do "!>RET".
