Please check the archive for gnu.emacs.help which has a whole bunch
of threads hashing, rehashing and rerehashing this issue in
all imaginable dimensions.
I use "emacs" or "emacs-like" for the family, "Emacs" for the one true
editor, "XEmacs" for its brother, and "(X)Emacs" to refer to both.
Discussion of emacsen other than Emacs and XEmacs is so rare that there's
never any ambiguity, really.
