Maybe I'm misunderstanding what mh-recenter should do.  It's comment

  ;; Like recenter but with two improvements: nil arg means recenter,

and for that, `(t)' seems not the right thing.

Could you please explain what the desired effect is?  I've myself
never used MH-E, so I can't really follow.
