The documentation for Posting Styles says nothing about variable
names, so it is no wonder that the first one doesn't work: it tries to
set a variable, but Posting Styles don't set variables.
(You could use an eval entry to circumvent this.)
As to why the second one just silently inserts a Gcc header, I don't
know. Maybe this is a bug. At least, it's an undocumented feature.
