find-alternate-file silently does nothing when asked for same directory |

Do C-x d some_dir
Do C-x C-v that_same_dir
notice that nothing happens.
Say between those two commands I fooled with the ls switches or
whatever, and just simply wanted to start fresh, expecting I could
shorten an C-x k C-x d into a C-x C-v, but no... Maybe C-x C-v should
take an argument = "yes I really mean it".
