Dear Ivan,

Waiting for more qualified responses, I suggest you to download the
CVS version of gnuchess with the command:

cvs -d:pserver:address@hidden:/sources/chess co chess

This will create a directory named chess/ with the sources of gnuchess
in the latest development version. Try to configure and build this
version.

As you can read in the ChangeLog file, some corrections have been made
to the 5.07 version to allow compilation with GCC 4.
