himeTM is MDL Information System's free plugin that allows you to view and manipulate
three-dimensional molecular structures embedded on Web Pages. Follow these steps to download and install Chime:
Check your hardware and software.
Download the plugin from MDLI. Select this link:
Close all browsers when the download is complete. Chime won't install if Netscape or Internet Explorer are running during setup. You may want to bookmark this page first so you can return to test the installation.
Execute the file you downloaded. Find the icon for the file you downloaded in step 2 and double-click on it.
It's best to just choose the default directories and options during the setup.
Test the installation by returning to this page. If Chime installed successfully, you should be able to see the acetylsalicylic molecule at the top of the page. For an elementary introduction to Chime, try Harry Ungar's tutorial.
