No, the input v1 will be unchanged.  The multiplicty you're looking
for is the return value from the function, eg.

        multiplicty = mpz_remove (result, input, factor);

I can see how "Return the multiplicity of F in OP" in the manual is a
bit misleading though.  I'll try to clarify that.  Thanks.
