Follow-up Comment #4, bug #53516 (project gettext):
en_US is ignored too.
echo $LANGUAGE
de:en_US:ru
App doesn't have DE translation
App has EN and RU translations.
It displays RU translation
I tried de:en:ru, but it still displays in russian.
