Ah, yes, I missed "patch applicability".  If we preseve that property
with the plain diff format, we must not normalize the first input file
of the diff program.  Still, we could minimize the output by making the
second input resemble the first input as much as possible (e.g. by
preserving comments).

Otherwise, maybe we need a special "patch" program as in Pology.

One good thing of PODIFF I forgot to mention is that it can be hooked
into "git diff", where the plain diff format might be seen as natural.
