This is the partly complicated configure invocation:

        time env LANG=C PATH=/Developer45/usr/bin:$PATH ./configure --host
ppc-apple-darwin10.8.0 --prefix=/Users/peter/Quellen/wp2latex.3.63/build
--libdir=/Users/peter/Quellen/wp2latex.3.63/build/lib-G4 --enable-shared=no
--disable-native-java --disable-rpath --disable-openmp --disable-acl
--disable-libasprintf --with-pic CFLAGS="-arch ppc -isysroot
/Developer45/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.4.8 -mcpu=G4 -m32 -H
-pipe -fPIC -fast -mtune=G4 -mpowerpc-gfxopt -faltivec -maltivec -mabi=altivec
-pthread -finline-functions" LDFLAGS="-arch ppc -Wl,-dead_strip_dylibs
-Wl,-bind_at_load -Wl,-t" CC=gcc-4.0 CPP=cpp-4.0 CCX=g++-4.0 LD=gcc-4.0

In /Developer45 the old SDKs are installed, /Developer45/usr/bin contains the
compilers to be used.

In /Users/peter/Quellen/wp2latex.3.63/build the static libraries (single
architecture to build the utility libs and combined to finally build the
application WP2LaTeX 3.63) are installed.

I have to use the GCC-4.0 components because that's the compiler working on Mac
OS X 10.4 (Tiger).

On my Mac with Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) I have Rosetta installed, so that
32-bit G3 and G4 code can be executed "natively".

The configuration and compilation for the G5 hardware fails in similar way (G3
