After invoking "./autogen.sh" with a bleeding-edge automake (from the 'master'
branch) installed early in PATH, I see several errors like this:
configure.ac:26: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_CONFIG_HEADER
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.

This is due to the fact that AM_CONFIG_HEADER (that had been superseded by
autoconf-provided AC_CONFIG_HEADERS macro since 2002) has been deprecated
in Automake 1.12, and will be removed in Automake 1.13; see the section
"WARNING: Future backward-incompatibilities!" in the announcement of
Automake 1.12.5:
