gdb problem |

Hello,
I have the following problem:
- during core file analyses gdb stays in hung state while trying
to get the threads ID ('info threads'). I suppose the reason is
that core file was generated on one machine and analyzed on
another (they are not even on the same OS version).
However, the program I am using could be used on both OS versions so I
expect I can analyze core file on both versions because core file was loaded
fine and some other gdb commands I tried worked well. I left running 'info
threads'
for about 30 minutes and finally I had to kill gdb process (it even consumed
~95 CPU all the time).
gdb data:
- gdb version: GNU gdb 4.18 for Solaris 7, used on Solaris 7
- uname -a:
SunOS rambo 5.7 Generic_106541-12 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-1
- I did not compile the gdb - I used version ready to install
- to compile the program Solaris Workshop compiler was used - version
5.0
Thanks in advance for any help. I would be glad to provide you any further
info you might need.
Regards,
Ivan Loncar
