Follow-up Comment #2, bug #34083 (project findutils): Well, it would save a few (normally 1) sh invocations, and would be somewhat easier to figure out and use. (The example you refer to only appears in findutils 4.4.0.). However, the trick/solution you propose is very good performance-wise compared to the use of the -I option.
