max-chars 20k limit, is limiting

Hi xargs mailing list,

 

I am running into $SUBJECT hard coded limitation with xargs.

I was surprised that there was not even a switch to disable

the 20k limit check.

 

Are the maintainers willing to consider either of the

following patches?

 

a) removing the limitation

 

OR

 

b) Providing a switch to disable the limitation?

 

If there is another work around, or something I am missing,

please enlighten me.
